Marcelo Mammana was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He is a self-taught underwater photographer and designer. He is also a doctor, and as such and as a photographer, he has been recently working for an entire year (2009-2010) at Jubany Station, King George / 25 de Mayo island, in the Southern Shetland archipelago, Antarctica.
This was his second winter-over. He has already spent another annual period (2007-2008) at San Martín Station, inside the beautiful Marguerite Bay.

He has been doing underwater photography for years, mostly in black and white. Some of his work can be seen at

He is currently working in editorial and documentary projects involving cold an polar environments, both over and underwater.
